The supreme court resurrected MDC-T implosion has reached a crescendo with the party’s chairperson, Morgen Komichi revealing that action will be taken against its secretary general, Douglas Mwonzora for allegedly perpetrating violence and fanning factionalism.
Speaking to the media, Komichi said his party will deal with rogue elements implicated in gross indiscipline in the party which is threatening cohesion.
“We will indeed take disciplinary measures against rogue elements in the party because we need order. We are a party that believes in constitutionalism and justice”
The nasty fallout in the MDC T comes amidst reports that acting president, Thokozani Khupe is keen on punishing Mwonzora for misconduct.
Impeccable sources have said, Khupe who is set to lock horns with Mwonzora at the party’s extraordinary congress wants the lawyer cum politician dumped so that she has a clean sweep to the presidency.
However, Mwonzora who has been on a whirlwind tour of the country meeting party structures appears well ahead of Mudzuri and Madam Khupe.
Accusations against him arose from his stance in dictatorial tendencies which has seen ejection of sitting MPs and councilors which the Khupe and Elias Mudzuri factions are claming that they have tarnished the MDC T as an appeandage of Zanu PF.
