MDC Councilor for ward 37, Kuwadzana East Constituency, Jason Kautsa allegedly vandalised property worth  USD$2400 at one Mr Brown’s house in Dzivarasekwa after a man believed to be staying at the house snatched his girlfriend only identified as Munashe.

Kautsa is believed to have hired thugs late last night  who stormed Brown’s house in Dzivaresekwa 2 and destroyed two vehicles, a Honda CRV and a Mazda Familia which were parked at the homestead.

The gang of about 15 men also reportedly destroyed all the windows at the house, tried to forcibly enter the house but failed.

In an interview with Bustop TV, an occupant at the house Nathan Masvon’a confirmed the incident and narrated how the councilor had earlier visited their house and forcibly took the girl in question.

He also said that Cllor Kautsa is the possible suspect as he had earlier came to their place and possibly assumed that’s where the guy who snatched his girlfriend stayed.

“My young brother’s friend is dating an ex girlfriend of Mr Jason Kautsa who is an MDC Councillor for Kuwadzana 3.

“Yesterday Mr Kautsa went to our house and beat up the girl before dragging her into his car. My young brother asked him why he was beating her and he told him that he should not get involved in the issue.

“He drove off with the girl and dropped her off at her house.

“Later on around 10pm  Mr Kautsa sent some thugs who were around 15 to vandalise our house because he was assuming that the boy who is dating his girlfriend stays at our house.

“They broke all the windows around the house and vandalised 2 cars. They tried to enter our house by force but they failed because the main door is made of heavy metal,” narrated Masvon’a.

Contacted for comment,  Cllor Kautsa admitted to have gone at the place during the day to pick up the girl in question (Munashe ) in the company of her aunt but denied any involvement in the vandalism case.

“l was only called yesterday evening by a guy called Kelvin Madeko who was apologizing for what had happened at the house where this incident happened during the day.

“What had transpired is Kelvin had Munashe whom I had an affair with long back at the house in Dzivarasekwa you have mentioned. The girl’s aunt then asked me to go and pick her  up. l simply drove to the house and picked Munashe and we drove her to her place otherwise l was in no way involved in the destruction of property which took place yesterday evening,” he said.

The matter have since been reported to Zimbabwe Republic Police Dzivarasekwa Station under RRB Number 4817763.
