MDC Alliance mourns Kuwadzana MP

The opposition party, MDC Alliance has expressed it’s condolences following the passing of it’s Kuwadzana legislator and national standing committee member, Mirriam Mushayi.

Mushayi died Monday night.

In a statement, the MDC Alliance extended it’s condolences to the Mushayi family.

“The MDC Alliance is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of National Standing Committee Member & Kuwadzana MP, Hon Miriam Mushayi. She was a true veteran of the struggle who will be missed dearly. Rest in power, Hon Mirriam Mushayi. Our condolences go out to her family.”

MDC Alliance leader, Nelson Chamisa said , “The passing on of Hon Mirriam Mushayi (MP) is a huge blow upon previous other multiple blows. It has been torrid and terrible. It never rains but it pours.Tragedies hunt in packs, move in droves.When sorrows come,they come not in single files but in battalions. RIP people’s leader.”

 Harare mayor, His Worship Jacob Mafume said, “You never knew she was there until you knew. You gave so much in solidarity. Just the other day we were @JobSikhala1 court case waiting the whole day. This place is not our home for sure, fare thee well comrade.”

Meanwhile, MDC Alliance dept spokeperson Clifford Hlatshwayo said the late Mushayi will be laid to rest on Thursday in Magunje, “MDC A Acting Secretary for Policy and MP for Kuwadzana Hon Miriam Mushayi who passed on yesterday 7/9/20 will be laid to rest in Magunje, Hurungwe on Thursday. The body will leave Harare for Magunje tomorrow.Mourners are gathered at 5 Ashdown Park.”

Mushayi died at a Harare hospital on Monday night – almost a week after she was admitted after collapsing at the Harare Magistrates’ Court where she had gone in solidarity with the party’s deputy chairman Job Sikhala.

The cause of death her death has not yet been  disclosed to the media.
