MDC A scoffs at ZANU PF threats

By Lloyd Takawira

OPPOSITION party, MDC Alliance has scoffed at the ruling ZANU PF party’s  threats to arrest its leader Nelson Chamisa flowing his Agenda 2021 address.

This follows the recent address by Chamisa in which he vowed more anti-government protests this year.

MDC Alliance’s spokesperson, Fadzayi Mahere poked fun at ZANU PF saying the response was a clear suggestion that the ruling party had paid attention to Chamisa’s 2021 Agenda address.

“We’re glad President @nelsonchamisa’s Agenda2021 message reached you. Calling for citizen convergence to bring about democratic change can’t be an unsettling proposition. We won’t rest until we’ve implemented the People’s Agenda. Reform instead of declaring war & issuing threats!”

Buttressing their party stance MDC Alliance youth assembly issued a chilling statement to the  Zanu PF party saying resisting human rights abuses is in no way a form of subversion.

The MDC A youths said that ZANU PF is running scared and can not fathom the idea of citizens converging for change.

“In a hollow presser issued by the debilitating former revolutionary party through its mouthpiece, Simon Khaya Moyo, ZANU PF accuses the People’s President Advocate Nelson Chamisa and MDC Alliance of threatening “to unseat a constitutionally elected Government,” MDC Alliance youth assembly spokesperson, Stephen Chuma said.

He added that lies and unsubstantiated falsehoods on the alternative People’s Government can not go unchallenged.

“It is important to note that whenever ZANU PF make those subversion allegations, the intention is to sanitize their intended bloodbath on innocent citizens.

When a hyena wants to devour its own cubs it first accuses them of smelling like goats.
The last time ZANU PF made those serious allegations against the people, they went on a rampage killing innocent civilians in January 2019. Last year following the July 31 call for demonstrations, the same regime drew a long list of “enemies of the government” and went on to arbitrarily arrest and imprison citizens without trial”.

Remember Simon Khaya Moyo!

This is the same man who once described Emmerson Mnangagwa live on national television as “incompetent and inconsistent”. Now the same Khaya Moyo wants citizens not to question this “incompetent” dictator” Chuma said.

The MDC A youths described the Zanu PF presser as a hallow presser.
He said “While there is nothing positive to take home from ZANU PF’s hollow presser for the hungry and angry citizens, the response itself to the People’s #Agenda2021 is a clear indication that the message reached home.

Our message to the dictator is simple and clear. We can no longer tolerate the dehumanizing abuse we have endured for so long from this rogue regime.” said Chuma.

Addressing a press briefing in Harare this week , Zanu PF party national spokesperson Simon Khaya Moyo said that MDC Alliance president, Nelson Chamisa must be arrested for subversion.
