Masvingo- 280 Covid-19 positive cases were reported yesterday in the province out of the 1 034 tests conducted.
As at 13July 2021, of the 280 cases, Chiredzi recorded 117 cases, Masvingo with 54 cases, Chivi 33, Bikita 29, Gutu 18 and Zaka with the least cases 4.
The province recorded, 2 109 active cases, recovered 3 413 and 87 deaths. Cumulative positive cases for the whole province is 5 609 cases.
Chiredzi which was classified as a hotspot is still recording the highest number of positive cases in the province with most of the cases reported to be from Tongaat Hullets.
In an interview Masvingo Covid-19 Taskforce Spokesperson, Rodgers Irimayi said more Covid-19 awareness campaigns will be conducted in the province. are to be done in the province to educate people on how to stay safe.
According to the statistics that were availed by the Ministry of Health and Child Care, 2846 positve cases were recorded in the country with 38 deaths.
1 170 new recoveries were recorded. To date the country has recorded 73 271 cases, 48 102 recoveries and 2 274 deaths.
