Manyuchi back in the ring?

Legendary boxing champion, Charles Manyuchi might be back in the ring very soon as his Zambian trainer, Greetings Kaonga is set to land in the country on Tuesday, May 11.

Kaonga will land ahead of fast rising star Brandon “Boika” Denes match later this month.

Boika is currently the WBF Intercontinental Light welterweight Champion and WBO Africa welterweight champion.

Word in the grapevine has it that Greetings Kaonga will be working with Manyuchi’s long time friend and coach Ali “Otto” Phiri to prepare for a big event scheduled for July. The event could possibly be the first of its kind on African soil and it may involve Zimbabwe’s most decorated pugilist Charles Manyuchi.

Bustop TV managed to confirm that Denes is scheduled to fight in Dar-es-salaam on 28 May for the vacant ABU super Welterweight championship title. It however remains unclear whether Kaonga is in to help Denes prepare for his bout.

There could be a big announcement in the coming two weeks but only time will tell if indeed Kaonga is in for Denes or if, as it highly looks like, Charles Manyuchi is heading back to the ring.
