Zimbabwe senior national team coach, Zdravko Logarusic has praised Warriors midfielder Terrence Dzukamanja’s move to Orlando Pirates, on a three-year-long deal.

In an interview with BustopTV, the Croat disclosed that Dzukamanja’s move to Pirates, one of the big clubs in South Africa, is a good move for both the player and him particularly as the national team coach.

“This is fantastic news for me as a coach for the national team, it shows the talent of Zimbabwean players is good and very important, the players are stars and are always on the spotlight,” he said.

The Warriors gaffer also added that the former Bidvest Wits and Ngezi Platinum midfielder is full of potential and hard working.

However, the coach described the 26 year old as a player who doesn’t top the headlines in the media always but believes he will soon showcase his talent.

“Terrence is a hard working player both watching him and also checking his statistics, one can tell what kind of player he is.

“Zimbabwean players are stars and some of them top the headlines in the newspapers, however it is not always the case with Dzukamanja, but coaches like such players and coaches also trust them, Terrence Dzukamanja is that kind of player.

“Now we expect him to showcase himself at the highest level because he is a fantastic player and I have followed him since I came to Zimbabwe,” Logarusic said.

The former Sudan national team coach wished the player good fortune at his new club adding that he hopes Orlando Pirates fans will appreciate him.

He revealed that he hopes to work Dzukamanja personally in the national team.

“My wish is to see him (Dzukamanja) stay long at his new club (Orlando Pirates) and the club’s supporters appreciating him, personally I hope to work with him soon in the national team,” revealed the Croat.

Logarusic is yet to take charge of any national team match as the Warriors gaffer, since replacing Joey Antipas in February.

Zimbabwe will face African giants Algeria in a back to back fixture of the AFCON qualifiers.

The first game will be played in Algeria on the 9th of November with the return leg set to be played on the 17th of November at a venue yet to be announced after CAF condemned National Sports and Babourfileds stadium.

The games will mark the return of the international football campaign in Africa after the COVID-19 pandemic led to its postponement.
