With two games to end this year’s Castle Lager Premier Soccer League season, Green Machines 1-0 victory against Dynamos helped them maintain their two-point lead over FC Platinum who also won a tricky encounter against Chapungu by two goals to nil.
Dynamos defeat to Caps meant that the 19 matches unbeaten run were cut shot. Caps United coach Darlington Dodo had this to say
“It was a very tough game, a tricky one considering this was a derby. These players have made me proud. This is exactly what we as coaches demand; its the response we expect. These are games we envy to play. Grinding results against a team like Dynamos keeps their confidence growing in our next two matches,” he said.
Ndiraya, however, said he was disappointed as he bemoaned lack of concentration for his team’s defeat.
“It was exciting in the first half we started on the back foot, Caps put us under pressure, but we rediscovered our form in the second half and took the game to them. We lost concentration and conceded what I would say a soft goal, we might give it to the strikers beautiful header, but I thought our defenders didn’t apply the basics of defending,” he said.
With two games to go the title race is hitting up with the Caps United Fc Platinum game the likely decider.
