Fire gutted down a popular shopping mall in Harare Central Business District today (Thursday) morning .
The building situated at corner Robert Mugabe and Chinhoyi street caught fire in the early hours of Thursday.
Wares worth thousands of dollars was lost after the entire building caught fire early Thursday morning.
When this news crew visited the scene , visibly shaken people could not believe what had befallen them .
Some traders couldn’t hold their tears as they fail to come to terms the loss they had incurred as a result of the inferno.
Nyasha who said is a worker at one of the trading stalls said , ” I’m only a worker asi ndarwadziwa so . Tinotengesa ma phones nema accessories ende it’s a loss . Our stock was worth more than $20 000 Rtgs chaiyo ”
“I lost a lot my brothers, all my staff is gone , heee life is not fair mwari atirasa shuwa ” said Noboth a trader who said he is into clothing .
” I’m going to die of stress . My stock has been burnt , ma gas angu kani ” said Lizz who was sobbing uncontrollably.
It couldn’t be ascertained what could have caused the fire .
However sources close to the unfortunate event are that an electrical fault could have caused the inferno and the situation was worsened when gas tanks in a restaurant within building, exploded.
Police details at the scene said they are yet to connfirm what could have caused the fire .
