The death toll during the weekends incident in DRC has raisen to 22 as services continue to count the victims.
According to the reports, the armed members of the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) carried out the attack in regional capital Beni, targeting the local farmers and other civilians.
ADF is believed to stay behind a number of massacres in Beni, which have seen thousand of people .
“The enemy operated silently. We have already found 22 bodies and the search continues,” Noella Katsongerwaki, civil society president in the city, told the media adding that more than half of the casualties were women.
The UN mobilised the peacekeeping campaign in the country in order to stabilize the situation, however, the attacks appear to be far from their end.
