Harare Magistrate Learmore Mapiye yesterday granted bail to ten informal traders, who were initially arrested in connection with police helmets discovered in a Harare building.
The group is now accused of assaulting a police officer.
The traders were severely tortured by police resulting one Hilton Tamangani (29) dying in custody.
Mapiye granted bail at $100, ordering the traders to report at Harare Central Police Station every Friday, not to interfere with State witnesses and to continue residing at their given residential addresses.
