Civil Society Condemns MDC T’s Intra-party Violence

Civil society has condemned the violence that erupted at the media center in Harare yesterday after MDC T officials assaulted their colleague, Kudzanai Mashumba.

Mashumba called for a press conference to expose MDC T leader, Douglas Mwonzora where he was attacked midway and left nursing injuries.

In a statement a coalition of residents association, coalition for electoral reforms said: “As the Residents Associations Coalition for Electoral Reforms, we condemn political violence in all its forms. The intra-party violence involving MDC-T activists must be condemned”

The latest Intra-party violence involving the MDC youths follows , a spat of political motivated violence within the ruling Zanu PF party itself as well as it’s supporter beating and stoning Opposition MDC Alliance leader Mr Nelson Chamisa as he is touring provinces .

It remains to be seen how the 2023 election will pan out to considering the violence that has gripped the nation as election season approaches.
