Chivhanga arrested over # 31 July demo

Masvingo – Disability Amalgamation Community Trust (DACT) president, Henry Chivhanga was today arrested after staging a one-man demonstration against unfavourable living conditions faced by people living with disabilities.

Chivhanga recently bemoaned that people living with disabilities are being side lined and are facing difficult challenges during the national lockdown.

Little to no attention is being paid to those living with disabilities in the community as the global pandemic continues to threaten livelihoods.

He was marching from his home in Majange towards the CBD before being blocked at a police roadblock along Beitbridge road.

In a tweet, Chivhanga said “What is your excuse for not taking a stand and speaking out against corruption and state capture? I refuse to let fear or my disability atop me from exercising my democratic right. I am marching in my home town, Masvingo #July 31 movement#ZanuPfMUSTGO.”
