Breaking News | ED extends lockdown by another 2-weeks

Zimbabwe’s President, Emmerson Mnangagwa, has announced the extension of Covid-19 Level 4 lockdown by another 2-weeks.


President Mnangagwa announced this during a national address that was held today at the State House. 


Below is what President ED said in his speech:
1.More vaccines coming from other “friendly” countries such as Russia.


2.Hours of business now between 0800hrs and 1700hrs.


3.Curfew to start at 2000hrs and end at 0530hrs.


4.Inter-City/Provincial travelling remain banned.5.Funerals remain limited to 30 people.

6.All social gatherings remain banned.

7.Burials to be held as per WHO standards.


8.Essential services to continue conducting their duty.


9.Manpower manning government offices raised from 10% to 25%.

10.Testing for Covid-19 to be increased by Health Ministry.


11.Companies willing to open, should apply for exemption and test their employees.

12.Judiciary to be open but no one to attend hearings in gallery, everyone else in attendance should be tested.


13.Schools to remain closed.

14.Markets to remain open.


15.Informal sector to remain open with respect to WHO protocols.
