Bosso, Dembare donated vehicles are club property

Sakunda Holdings owner Kudakwashe Tagwirei Tuesday evening suprised the football fraternity with a huge gesture which saw the country’s two giant clubs Highlanders and Dynamos FC receiving a massive US$5.3 million deal till 2023.

The three year lucrative sponsorship deal which was oficially unveiled at Miekles Hotel in Harare will financially capaciate the traditional clubs to a tune of US$890 000 annually.

The deal will cater for all the players and staff salaries together with allowances. It will also cover sign-on fees for both clubs.

Despite the huge package, during the unveiling ceremony, the bussinesman, Tagwirei, made some suprise gestures including, handing over four vehicles to the two club’s head coaches and team captains.

He donated brand new cars that include two Ford Everest and two Ford Ranger double-cab to two club’s head coaches and team captains.

However, according to one of the two clubs’ official the cars are not individually owned or personal gifts to the recipients but are club properties.

“They (cars) are a club property,” said the Bualwayo giants spokesperson, Ronald Moyo.

The vehicles were officially handed over to their new owners on Wednesday at Tagwirei’s offices in Newlands, Harare.

Dembare’s Tonderai Ndiraya and the club captain, defender Patson Jaure were the two recipients from the Harare giants.

While from Bosso the keys were handed over to Mandla Mpofu and Ariel Sibanda who are head coach and the team captain, respectively.

Furthermore, Tagwirei promised to buy houses worthy US$120 000 to the family of the late Dynamos legend George Shaya.

The bussiness tycoon also said he will provide three houses worthy US$90 000 to two other football legends, Moses Chunga and Madinda Ndlovu.

Veteran football commentator, Charles Mabika was also promised a house worth US$90 000.

Present at the unveiling ceremony were Minister of Sports Kirsty Coventry and her deputy Tino Machakaire.
