ZRP unveils new requirements for movement exemptions.

The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has revealed a list of required documentation to ensure passage through check points for citizens.

The police advised people to adhere to the lockdown measures that were announced by his Excellency, E.D Mnangagwa on the 21st of July 2020.

“Health should produce uniform and health ID cards. Those in civilian attire, a letter from Medical Superintendent or Chief Executive Officer CEO stating the place, dates and times of reporting on and off duty. The contact details of the Chief Executive Officer to be indicated in the letter” reads the statement by Paul Nyathi.

“Companies or organisations should have letters from company Chief Executive Officer CEO or general Manager GM stating the place, days and times of reporting on and off duty.

“Ministries/Parastals HQ and provincial levels at the national level are required an exemption letter from Directors and above stating the duty, place, days and times of reporting.

“Commercial A2 and A1 farmers should have an offer letter or lease of agreement and an exemption certificate from local officer in charge Station while communal farmers should have a supporting letter from the Headman or Village Head stating the business to be done, the date, time, place and an exemption letter from OIC Station.

“A shop licence and an exemption letter from local Officer In Charge for all food retailers and this are the same for sole traders.

“For private security services should produce a uniform, company ID and letter from the management stating dates and time of reporting on and off duty.

“Medical resupplies should have medical cards/ prescription and contact details of Doctor where possible.

“All funeral attendees if they are concerned relatives must produce a copy of burial order to local police station. Officer in Charge Station officer Commanding District and Officer Commanding Province to issue exemption letters showing destination and dates of movement to those who intend to bury relativrs in other towns, rural areas etc.”

Nyathi advised that the members of the public are to do their shopping within a five-kilometre radius from their residence to acquire basic necessities.

“The public should also make prior arrangements to obtain assistance for themselves or someone to whom they are related or have a duty of caring for. This includes an all person whom they are related to or care for purposes of rendering medical assistance or provide for,” reads the statement.
