Zimbabwe 132 (Chakabva 33, Hasan Ali 5-27) and 220 for 9 (Chakabva 80, Taylor 49, Shaheen 4-45, Nauman 5-86) trail Pakistan 510 for 8 dec (Abid Ali 215, Azhar Ali 126) by 158 runs.

Nauman Ali’s five for 86 and Shaheen Afridi’s four wickets left Zimbabwe hanging by the thread in an almost impossible situation to redeem the second test with 220 with only one wicket remaining.

Zimbabwe had earlier on been bowled out for 132 and had to follow on bringing them back to bat soon after lunch.

The biggest positive was between stand in captain Brendan Taylor (49) and Regis Chakabva (80) who combined for 79. At least Zimbabwe managed to have a ticking partnership.

Regis Chakabva looked sharp throughout the day with a good knock of 33 in the first innings and an innings topping 80 in the second innings.

Roy Kaia also showed character by coming to the crease although he was injured from being hit by a ball while fielding at mid on on the first day of the match.

Zimbabwe will come back to bat in the morning and it’s only a matter of time before the match is wrapped up unless a miracle happens for the tenth wicket.
