Zim Covid-19 cases rose to 605.

14 new cases tested positive yesterday for Covid -19 yesterday adding the number up to 605 confirmed cases in the country.

A statement released by the Ministry of Health and Child Care confirmed.

“Fourteen cases tested positive for Covid -19 yesterday. These include a returnee from South Africa 1 and 13 local cases who are all isolated. Two of the local cases are contacts to known confirmed cases, investigations are underway to establish the source of infection for the other eleven cases,” said the Ministry.

Bulawayo and Harare all reported six new infections and Midlands had two new infections.

Three recoveries were reported.
“Mashonaland East Province reported three recoveries and the country now has 166 recoveries,” the Ministry noted.

Yesterday 265 RDT screening tests and 380 PCR tests were done. The cumulative number of tests done to date is 68 400 (37 309 and 31 091PCR).

To date the total number of confirmed cases is 605, recovered 166, active cases 432 and seven deaths since the onset of the outbreak on 20 March 2020.
