The Movement for Democratic Change Alliance has suspended Douglas Mwonzora as its president citing multiple violations of the 2017 agreement.
This comes after the party performed dismally in yesterday’s by-elections.
In a statement, Secretariat Alliance Coordinator Marakia Bomani said that Mwonzora is suspended from speaking or conducting MDC Alliance business.
“On and around January to March 2022, you violated multiple sections of MDC Alliance’s agreement of the 4th of August 2017 and the Non Competent Alliance agreement amendment 1 of 5th of January 2021.”
He also described Mwonzora as a disgrace to the party.
“Our candidates nationwide failed to win at least one single polling station. You are a disgrace Mr President,”he added.
He was suspended till further notice and he was not given any moral rights to appeal against the decision.
