This was confirmed by the Students Representative Council (SRC) president, Lennox Machoko.

“Good day ladies and gentleman, with regards to scheduled examinations note that everything has been put on hold and with reference to the circular released when the university closed, new dates for examinations will be notified in due course,” reads part of the statement.

Prior to the postponement, the UZ exams were scheduled for Monday the 12th of July 2021.

The exams have been postponed due to the spike in Covid-19 cases in the country.

“Examinations that were scheduled to start this Monday have been postponed and new dates will be announced depending on a number of variables, Covid-19 situation and statistics being the major.”

Furthermore, the SRC also urged students to continue with their online lessons and mantain tangency with the academic work as the institution monitors the situation in the country.

Medicine and Health students in Part IVs and Vs will however proceed with their scheduled examinations.

“Note that this notice exempts medical students who have scheduled examinations. Part IVs and Vs from the Faculty of Medicine and Health are going to proceed with their examinations as scheduled as they are crucial to the health situation in the country.”
