In a twist of events, the Vice President of the country, Hon Kembo Mohadi resigned from office today following his viral alleged immoral unions.

Mohadi tendered his resignation letter to H.E President Emmerson Mnangagwa citing that he made the decision to save the image of the government. This is despite that Mohadi had this past week held a press conference ensuring the nation that he is not resigning from office.

Hon Mohadi is stepping down in terms of Section 96(2) of the Constitution of Zimbabwe (No.20) Act, 2013 with immediate effect and the reason why he is stepping down is to save the image of the government.

He stated that it is a way of respecting the citizens and party comrades who have been strongly affected by the falsehoods and his character assassination.

In a resignation press statement to the nation released by the Ministry of Information, the VP stated he had to deal with the issue at hand outside office.

“I have been going through a soul searching pilgrimage and realized that l need the space to deal with my problems outside the governance chair. I have arrived at this decision not as a matter of cowardice but as a sign of demonstrating great respect to the office of the President so that it is not compromised or caricatured by actions that are linked to my challenges as an individual,” he said.

The Vice President denounces all the rumors that have circulated about him and claims he is a victim of all that has been happening.

“The interconnectivity with social media ecologies have been relaying viral moral panics, peddling flames of lies, creating myths and muddling the reality of my life as a family man. I am a victim of information distortion, voice cloning and sponsored spooking and political sabotage. Digital media, in their hybridity have been abused by my enemies to blackmail me but my spirit will never die,” Hon Mohadi said.

His resignation letter comes at a time he wants to seek clarity and justice on the matter he is being accused of.  “…..my legal team will pursue and deconstruct this pseudo –paparazzi and flawed espionage to achieve cheap political point. I promise to poke holes on this grand strategy from political foes,” he said.

Social media for the past two weeks had it that Mohadi had improper sexual liaisons with married women and also one of his subordinates.
