The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) is appealing to the public that might be missing their male relative to visit their Mt Darwin office or Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals and identify an unclaimed body there.
According to the acting police spokesperson for Mashonaland Central Assistant, Inspector Dhliwayo, sometime in June in the Mukaradzi illegal mining area, one Raymond Zongororo smelt a bad odour from one of the pits whilst he was passing.
He then informed a fellow illegal miner who directed him to go and check inside the pit.
Zongororo entered the pit and found a human body which was in a state of decomposition floating on top of water in the pit.
The two proceeded to Mt Darwin ZRP office and reported the incident and the deceased was retrieved and relayed to Parirenyatwa Hospital Mortuary where he is yet to be identified and collected.
The deceased was wearing a blue work suit bottom trouser with reflectors on the knees and gumboots with an orange patch on toes and a blue t-shirt.
