Chegutu West constituency legislator Dexter Nduna has issued an apology to the

family of machete wielding gang victims whose 80-year-old granny and her 16-year-old grandchild were sexually violated before being killed in Chegutu.

Nduna’s actions come after police warned members of the public against posting pictures or videos of accident scenes saying they would result in unintended problems such as trauma to families of those involved in accidents.

Nduna took and shared selfies with the lifeless body of the teenage girl showing off her buttocks.

Nduna apologized after being criticized on social media for his behavior.

Responding to Nduna’s tweet, ZiFM Stereo presenter Patience Musa, a niece of the murdered granny, said: “Member of Parliament Dexter Nduna @DexterNduna … you owe my family an apology.”

Norton legislator, Temba Mliswa also responded to the insensitive pictures saying that Nduna had crossed the line and was going to “expose” him.

Other bloggers questioned Nduna’s sanity and asked for his removal from office.

Meanwhile, Nduna has apologised for taking the pictures and urged authorities to take action to apprehend the murderers.

“My picture showing the body of the young girl who was murdered came across as insensitive. I really appologise the fact is that I was really touched by the incident.

“The killers must face the music because people in Chegutu West are now living in fear. We are a peaceful country and His Excellency Cde ED Mnangagwa on several occasions preached about peace. To Chegutu West I say PEACE IS THE FOUNDATION OF Development,” Nduna said on social media.

In a statement last week, police said they would arrest those who abuse social media by posting footage or photograph scenes of road traffic accidents, scenes of murder or other heinous crimes.

“The ZRP is concerned with some members of the public who record video footage or photograph scenes of road traffic accidents, scenes of murder or other heinous crimes and later post the footage on social media platforms,” police said.
