Zimbabwe African People’s Union (ZAPU) spokesperson, Iphithule Maphosa, has described ZANU PF as a “cruel” party that capitalize on women abuse to fix its political agendas.

These sentiments comes after Kembo Mohadi’s recent resignation from the post of Vice President following a series of his leaked audio recordings of alleged sex scandals with married women.

Mohadi tendered his resignation with immediate effect on Monday following a sex scandal exposè.

Phone call recordings of him luring married women to his office and hotel for sex rocked social media platforms.

He however vehemently denied all the allegations claiming he was a victim of ‘informational distortion, voice cloning and sponsored spooking and political sabotage.

In stepping down, Mohadi said he needed space to deal with his problems outside the governance chair.

However, some reports have indicated that the former VP was intentionally trapped by his ZANU PF counterparts who wanted to tarnish his image in order to secure the VP post.

Speaking to Bustop TV, ZAPU’s spokesperson, Iphithule Maphosa said the ruling party’s inhumanity and lack of respect to women is disclosed by Mohadi’s sudden decision to leave the top post.

“Mohadi’s resignation clearly shows that Zanu PF as a political party is full of disrespect to women and its members as they use women as sex objects to earn their political mileage,” he said.

Maphosa also said the ruling party leaders have been capitalizing on using women as sex objects since the days of the liberation struggle.

“The ZANU PF leadership has been abusing women even during the liberation struggle. This has turned to be their method of eliminating and humiliating each other in the party,” Maphosa said.

He also condemned how the Zanu PF leaders abuses government offices, saying they take advantage of their political power to snatch other people’s wives.

The ZAPU spokesperson, indicated that this is witnessed by the way the late Robert Gabriel Mugabe married his second wife, Grace Marufu who was his secretary and how VP Chiwenga snatched his estranged ex-wife Marry Mubaiwa from former footballer, Shingi Kawondera.

Mohadi has become the first government top official to officially resign from the post of Vice Presidents due to alleged sex escapades.

Mohadi was part of the unity accord which was signed on 22 December 1987 between ZANU PF and ZAPU to end blood hostilities which saw the mass killings of the Ndebele people allegedly at the hands of the 5th Brigade.

The accord stresses that one of the two VPs should be a former senior ZAPU leader.

Nonetheless, it is not clear yet that who will succeed the ex-VP, though some people have reportedly listed, Cain Mathema, July Moyo, Valerio Sibanda and Tshinga Dube as predecessors.
