Gutu the centre of controvesy !!!

Yes it was in Gutu that President Mnangagwa dropped so many bombshells . Firstly he stated that police soon will be apprehending citizens who have cockroach infested homes.

He added that opposition legislators and councilors will again be forced to attend Zanu-PF Provincial coordinating committee meetings and explain their developmental projects.

Addressing Zanu PF supporters at a clean up campaign rally in Gutu on Friday, Mnangagwa said all governance projects should be guided by the Zanu-PF manifesto.

“Rural and urban councils should have developmental programmes. As the ruling party, you have the right to know the work that is being done by the local authorities and their budgets.

“You are the ruling party and we have a manifesto that informs us what we should do. So, local authorities should follow programmes of the ruling Zanu-PF party. It is our time to rule whether you like it or not. The chairmen should summon all the MPs to the Provincial Coordinating Committee to present projects that they are working on.”

This however drew derision from MDC members who described these as baseless rants.

MDC Secretary for Elections, Jacob Mafume in a comment maintained his party’s stance that the current government is illegitimate.

“The regime is always and is illegal,” he said.
