Energy and power development minister, Fortune Chasi(MP) has been fired from his job as cabinet minister.

Mnangagwa relieved Chasi of his duties replacing him with Muzarabani North MP, Soda Zhemu.

In a statement, Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet Misheck Sibanda said Chasi had been sacked because “his actions were nolonger compatible with President Mnangagwa aspirations.”

Following the death of Rt Air Chief Marshal Perence Shiri, the President has appointed Crop Science expert, Anxious Jongwe Masuka as Minister of Lands, Agriculture, Water and Rural Resettlement.

Analysts who spoke to BustopTV expressed mixed feelings over the sacking of Chasi .

Frank Chauke said , “Chasi might have fallen out of favor with his principal because of the Gata scandal at Zesa. The appointment of a fellow Mashonaland Central legislator is also meant to balance regional politics .”

Malcom Ziki while disagreeing with Mr Chauke said , “the replacement for the departed Shiri is good replacement. Dr Masuku’s curriculum vitae speaks volumes, however it is one thing to work and to be educated.

On Chasi, l believe the man is paying for his misdeeds in the Gata scandal,” he said .
