MDC Alliance spokesperson, Fadzayi Mahere has been arrested for taking part in today’s demonstrations in Harare.
A 48 seconds video shared by Mahere on her twitter handle showed a group of armed police officers advancing towards a shop balcony at Groombridge Shopping center where she was seeking refuge together with other protesters.
After refusing orders to come forward and handover themselves, the police jumped over the barricade and went on to arrest them.
There has been wide condemnation of the heavy handedness in curtailing dissent by the Mnangagwa administration.
Outspoken government critic Pedzisai Ruhanya had this to say.
