President Emmerson Mnangagwa today presided over the national independence day celebrations held for the first time in Bulawayo.
Thousands attended the celebrations held at Barbourfields Stadium.
Officials from several opposition parties were in attendance including CCC secretary general Charlton Hwende, Douglas Mwonzora, Linda Masarira.
An Independence gala will be held at the same venue headlined by South African music star Master KG of the Jerusalema fame and Roki after a battle for the independence trophy between Highlanders and Dynamos.
