Warriors international defender, Divine Lunga (26) scored his first goal for his new club Mamelodi Sundowns during a MTN-8 semi-final match at Loftus Versfeld Stadium Tuesday evening.

Sundowns won by 3 goal to nil against Golden Arrows and won 4-1 on aggregate over the two legged semi-final.

Lunga was handed his debut yesterday in against his former club Arrows since he left them in July.

Red hot forward Peter Shalulile gave the home side, Sundowns, an early lead in the 4th minute, through a tap-in after Arrows goalkeeper spilled the ball.

Downs were not finished with finding the back of the net as Warriors full-back and former Chicken Inn man, Lunga doubled the lead just before half hour mark.

Thanks to a Thabo Kutumele beautiful assist that resulted in the 26-year-old Lunga heading home to give Sundowns more advantage.

Moreover, Amasandawana’s Neo Maema closed the account to make it three nil through a right-footed curly exactly at the stoppage time.

Despite that they have won six titles and overally 11 in the past eight and a half years, the Brazilians are yet to win the MTN-8 cup.

However, yesterday’s win over Abafana Bes’thende saw the club securing a ticket in the 2021 MTN-8 Cup, with hope to end a 14 year drought of the much coveted tournament in Mzansi (South Africa).

Furthermore, the dominant Sundowns is currently at the top of the DSTV Premier League having won four, drawn one after playing five games.

Meanwhile, Lunga is yet to feature in any league match this season.
