Former Zimbabwean cricket captain, Brendan Taylor has revealed he is facing a multi-year bad from the International Cricket Council after he received US$15 000 for spot-fixing.
In a statement Taylor said he was blackmailed by an Indian businessman but never went through with the arrangement to fix matches.
He alleged he was coerced into accepting the money in October 2019 after he was recorded doing cocaine. This was after he had travelled to India to discus the launch of a local T20 competition.
He added that due to to fear of his and his family’s safety it took him four months to report the incident to the ICC anti-corruption unit.
