Chitungwiza Residents Introduce Listening Program

Chitungwiza residents are set to host an interface with their elected representatives (councillor and Members of Parliament) in all five constituencies.

Speaking to Bustop TV, Alice Kuvheya director of Chitungwiza residents Trust said that CHITREST aims to build relationships between elected representatives and residents.

The “Listening Program” was hosted by Chitungwiza Residents Trust (CHITREST) in partnership with NAYO Zimbabwe and Accountibility Lab.

“We are having this listening Program so that it give a chance for residents to air out their concerns. This program aims to unpack the challenges that we as residents are facing.”

Kuvheya also said that , after the listening programs with residents , as CHITREST they are going to call for interface meetings at constituency level .

“After this listening program in all the constituencies, we are going to call all elected officials to answer to residents concerns. During this stage residents will face their elected officials asking them questions on all grey area . Today we wanted to give residents free time to air out their concerns freely. The next stage we call the councillors and members of parliament.”

During the Listening Program many residents complained about how Chitungwiza councillors upon being elected vanished from the constituencies.
