A grouping of faith-based organizations and residents lobby groups, Chitungwiza Multi-stakeholders forum has demanded that government release the contract details with Bitumen World for the rehabilitation of Seke road.
The forum said that, in line with section 62 of the Constitution of Zimbabwe and the need to be transparent, they as citizens need to know the total breakdown of the contract.
“We require total information on the cost, duration of repairs, and the kilometres that will be refurbished. This is being done in line with the provision of section 62 of the constitution of Zimbabwe, Freedom of Information Act,” reads part of the letter.
According to section 62 of the constitution of the citizens have the right of access to information held by the State and State institutions.
