Chinese couple goes missing on Valentines day

Two Chinese nationals based in the country went missing on Valentine’s day after visiting a friend in Harare’s Eastlea suburb.

While the couples car was discovered a day after, their whereabouts have not been ascertained yet.

In a statement Police Assistant Commissioner, Paul Nyathi appealed to the public to assist with information that may lead to Lei Ding and his wife, Chi Lifen’s safe return.

“The Zimbabwe Republic Police is investigating a case involving the missing of two Chinese nationals. The missing persons Lei Ding a male adult aged 35 and his wife Chi Lifen aged 30 years were last seen on 14 February 2020 in Eastlea, Harare when they visited a friend who resides in the suburb.

“On 15 February 2020, the missing persons’ motor vehicle which they used during their visit to their friend’s house was found abandoned along Acturus Road, Harare with the keys in the ignition.

“We are appealing to members of the public who may have information on their disappearance or possible location to contact their nearest police station or the National Complaints Desk on 0242703631.
