Radio personality and former ZANU PF MP’s son, Zororo Makamba has passed on, succumbing to COVID 19.
Zororo was the second confirmed case of the pandemic in Zimbabwe.
He had been admitted at Wilkins Infectious Diseases Hospital in the capital following his return from New York, USA.
This brings the statistics of the novel corona virus in the country to two confirmed cases and one death.
According to state controlled media the Health minister confirmed the unfortunate development.
A post on ZBC’s twitter handle reads, “The Minister of Health and Child Care, Dr Obadiah Moyo has confirmed the death of Zororo Makamba, who was the second person to test positive for Covid 19 in Zimbabwe.”
Zororo Makamba was a producer, radio and television host.
He started his media career at ZiFM Sterio, Zimbabwe’s first private radio station where he hosted several current affairs programs.
From radio, he quickly moved to television and was the host and executive producer of Tonight with Zororo an award winning talk show which aired on MNET’s Zambezi magic.
