The National Arts Council of Zimbabwe and Jacaranda Culture and Media Corporation announce that
all is set for the 19th Edition of the National Arts Merit Awards.
Speaking at a Press Conference held at the JCMC Offices on Wednesday 26 February 2020 the JCMC
Managing Director and NAMA Executive Producer Napoleon Nyanhi said, “Set up has begun as we
speak, the HICC is a hive of activity with our partner Events Evolution setting up.
“This will make room
for at least 2 full dress rehearsals at the venue to make the production a world class one,” he said.
Also present was the Deputy Director of the National Arts Council of Zimbabwe, Mr. Josiah Kusena
who said NACZ is committed to raising the standard of the arts in Zimbabwe and the NAMA is one of
those ways through which honouring brilliance also promotes excellence.
NAMA19 is the hashtag for this edition and is proudly powered by our platinum sponsors Events
Evolution, Greygate, Old Mutual, Fastfit Metlock, RwandAir and 4 May.
JCMC Artistic Director Leonard Mapfumo revealed that the awards ceremony will see over 150
performers gracing the stage, over 8 languages being represented but did not reveal the host of the
awards saying that is still a secret and people will only know when the event starts.

Ordinary tickets are still on sale for RTGS $200 meanwhile VIP tickets are now SOLD OUT.
